Tessitura a mano – Un filo diretto con la storia
La casa della tessitura Roccalbegna
The weaving house is situated in a renovated section of the medieval building, Palazzo della Lana, from the 12. century.
This is where the medieval history of local wool production meets the future of slow crafts and sustainable textiles.
The mission of the weaving house is to re-introduce popular weaving as a craft, so that local production of textiles may again be widespread. The working with looms will also contribute to an appreciation of textiles and weaving art.
Improving skills of spinning and weaving may open up for small scale production – and for social activities beautifying and strengthening community life.
